Our Story

History of Chocolatefest

Chocolatefest was created over 25 years ago by the Kidney Foundation Chapter in Knoxville, TN.  For as long as most of us can remember, it was held at Knoxville Center Mall.  Jennifer Johnsey, the owner of Night Moon Productions was a judge at Chocolatefest for 8 years during part of her time as Midday Radio Personality for B97.5.

We believe the story is that once the local chapter became a national chapter, they stopped holding Chocolatefest.  One of the former board members really wanted to bring it back and asked Jennifer if she would help so she did!

It is no secret that long lines have been a part of Chocolatefest for years.  We rebranded the event and launched it with a new "feel".  As with any major event, we have had some growing pains.

In 2018, we presented a new strategy to prevent the long lines and added timed ticketing.  This worked like a charm!  No long lines, no frowning...all smiles!

In our 5th year now,  we are taking it one step further.  Our Tasting Ticket holders will get a seat in the Sweet Spot where they will be waited on hand and foot by our Chocolatefest waiters. The waiters will bring each chocolate item to them while the emcee tells them who made it, what it is and where they can get more!

There are a specified number of tickets for this as the chocolatiers can only produce so much fresh product.  This number is set at 1250.  So that is only 1250 tasting tickets.  Do not wait to get one!

If you arrive early, feel free to shop our merchant booths until it is time to sit.  You can also do some shopping after you enjoy your chocolate.

Chocolatefest Knoxville will offer East Tennesseean's a day of sweets and shopping just in time for Valentine's Day!

General Admission is a $5.00 donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Knoxville to come in and enjoy the festival. (age 5 & under are free).  Tasting Passes to taste the chocolate samples are $25.00 per person and include general admission.
